MEET BRE

For as long as I can remember skin, specifically overall skin health has been an obsession of mine.

I believe that my passion was a result of my own struggle as a teen. I suffered with acne and was not able to find quality holistic information and treatments. This struggle for information and trying to find alternatives for treatments instead of being prescribed medication, made me realise that there is a gap within the industry. I became focused on filling this gap and being able to provide a service to people just like me.  

This focus took me to Brisbane where I studied a Diploma in Beauty Therapy at Queensland School of Beauty Therapy.  Once I finished my study, I returned to Mackay and found work as a Senior Beauty Therapist. I was finally doing the work I was so passionate about. This desire came through in my work winning me several national awards such as ‘Therapist of the Year’ in my first year of work. Additionally, I was nominated to compete in a global skin care competition, the Skin Games, in the United States. The Skin Games is where Aestheticians showcase their skills, knowledge, and expertise in various aspects of skincare. Competing on an international stage against Therapists with double my experience provided me with valuable exposure, recognition, and networking opportunities. It was the fire for me to create my own brand and a desire to open my very own clinic.  

The opening of Sense of Skin and Beauty

I officially opened Sense of Skin and Beauty in April 2021. At Sense of Skin and Beauty our primary focus is skin, and our services reflect this. We are a small team of professionals who are focused on skin health with supporting services to make our clients look and feel beautiful.  

I am proud of the environment we have created. Where our clients feel safe to be vulnerable; where they can share their skin concerns and be confident in their therapist’s ability to work with them to reach their skin goals.  I thrive on achieving results for my clients and this is what Sense of Skin and Beauty is for me.
